Lucy Rose of Sharon is a deciduous shrub that has a multi-stemmed, upright nature with a vase shape. Lucy Rose of Sharon is easy to care for and has no significant insect or disease issues, is heat and humidity tolerant and relatively hardy overall. It’s most striking and well know feature is its beautiful large double blooms.
This hardy hibiscus can be pruned in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged branches and for shaping. Frequent severe pruning gives fewer but larger flowers; no or little pruning gives many small flowers.
